The Miva Open University Maiden Convocation Ceremony celebrates the achievements of its pioneering graduating class and marks a major milestone in the institution’s journey. Bringing together academic leaders, industry voices, and families, the event honours excellence, resilience, and the future of a new generation of Miva graduates.

Keynote Speaker
We are honoured to welcome His Royal Highness, Khalifa Muhammad Sanusi II, PhD, CON, Sarkin Kano, as the keynote speaker for Miva Open University’s 2026 Convocation Ceremony.
A respected traditional leader, economist, and public intellectual, he has held some of Nigeria’s most influential positions, including Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, where he led reforms that stabilised the banking sector and strengthened investor confidence. His contributions to economic policy and financial reform earned him global recognition, including being named Central Bank Governor of the Year in 2011.
Beyond finance, he has remained a strong voice on education, governance, and social development, with a long-standing commitment to issues such as public accountability, girl-child education, and economic empowerment.
His presence at this year’s convocation reflects our shared belief in the power of education to shape leaders, expand opportunity, and drive meaningful change.
