As The uLesson Group continues to scale across products, teams, and geographies, one reality has become increasingly clear: growth is no longer just about building great products—it is about building great leaders who can sustain them.
This is the thinking behind the Emerging Leaders Development Programme (ELDP), an 8-week blended leadership journey designed to strengthen The uLesson Group’s internal leadership pipeline while accelerating the careers of high-potential talent across the organisation.
More than a training programme, the ELDP is a deliberate investment in organisational capability, leadership continuity, and long-term sustainability of performance.

Why ELDP and Why Now?
In fast-paced organisations like The uLesson Group (uLesson Education and Miva Open University), high-potential employees often step into leadership roles quickly. They are expected to manage people, influence across functions, and drive strategic execution, many times with limited structured preparation.
The ELDP was designed to close that gap.
It provides a structured pathway for emerging leaders to develop the mindset, behaviours, and practical skills required to lead effectively in a complex, high-growth environment. In doing so, it strengthens the ability of The uLesson Group to scale without losing clarity, culture, or execution quality.
Simply put, ELDP ensures that as the company grows, its leadership capability grows with it.
A Strategic Investment in People and Performance
The Emerging Leaders Development Programme is not a standalone learning initiative. It is a core part of The uLesson Group’s broader talent strategy, one focused on building internal leadership depth and reducing over-reliance on external hiring for critical roles.
By design, the programme contributes directly to:
- A stronger, more resilient leadership pipeline
- Faster readiness for leadership transitions
- Greater consistency in leadership behaviour across teams
- Stronger alignment between strategy and execution
This makes the ELDP not just a people development initiative but also a sustainability mechanism for organisational performance.
Inside the 8-Week Leadership Journey
The Emerging Leaders Development Programme will run for 8 weeks and is structured into four intensive learning arcs.
Participants will build strong leadership identity and systems thinking, strengthen their ability to communicate and lead people effectively, and develop the skills to drive execution and performance across teams. The journey will conclude by sharpening their focus on long-term impact, value creation, and leadership legacy.
Throughout the programme, they will combine self-paced learning with live executive-led sessions, weekly C-suite mentorship, and a capstone project that applies learning to real business challenges within The uLesson Group.
Each arc is anchored by a senior facilitator, including the CEO-Designate of the uLesson Group, Iheanyi Akwitti; the Chief People Officer, Oladipo Olugbemi; the Chief Operations Officer, Aniekeme Umoh; and the Founder and Executive Chairman of the Group, Sim Shagaya, ensuring that participants learn directly from leaders who are shaping the organisation at the highest level.
What Makes the Emerging Leaders Development Programme Different
What sets ELDP apart from regular training is its design philosophy: it is not classroom learning; it is applied leadership development inside a live business environment.
The ELDP stands out through a blended learning model that combines online, self-paced learning with live, executive-led immersion sessions, creating a balance between theory and real-time insight from senior executives. Each participant is also paired with a C-suite mentor for high-touch, continuous guidance throughout the programme, ensuring personalised support and accountability.
Learning is designed to be applied immediately to real workplace challenges, reinforced through a capstone project in which participants solve actual organisational problems and present their solutions to leadership. This is further strengthened by active manager involvement, with line managers supporting behaviour change and reinforcing on-the-job application throughout the journey.
This ensures learning does not remain theoretical; it becomes visible in performance, decision-making, and leadership behaviour.
Building The uLesson Group’s Future from Within
The Emerging Leaders Development Programme reflects our commitment to developing internal talent through structured leadership growth. It provides participants with access to C-suite mentorship, exposure to executive decision-making, and opportunities to work on real leadership and business challenges, supported by a clear progression toward leadership readiness.
Ultimately, the ELDP reinforces a long-term truth about The uLesson Group: the future of the organisation will be shaped by the leaders it develops today.
